Cécile Lempert

In her works, Cécile Lempert captures psychological states and interpersonal relationships. She explores questions of belonging to places and other people, often referencing her own person and family history. Lempert confronts these personal experiences and memories of the individual with societal observations – in form of archival materials, references to art history and depictions of historically located scenes.

A solo exhibition of Lempert’s work, Who makes the solid tree trunks sound again, took place at BRAUNSFELDER, Cologne in 2024.
